Kalamazoo Waste Disposal

Almena Township contracts with the Kalamazoo County Department of Human Services to offer our residents a location to take household hazardous waste.

Location:	1301 Lamount Ave. Kalamazoo, MI
The facility is located off Lake St. near the fairgrounds

Hours:	Tuesday & Friday - 8:00 am to 1:00 pm
Wednesday - 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm
2nd Saturday - 8:00 am to 12:00 pm (Closed 2nd Saturday in Aug & Sept)

Materials Accepted :

aerosols
batteries
cleaners
electronics
gasoline
mercury
oil-based paints
pesticides
pure used motor oil

Materials Not Accepted :

freon appliances
latex paint
business waste
unsued medication: residents may use any of the six Red Med Box/medication drop offs in Kalamazoo County listed on

You must show identification to prove you are an Almena Township resident to use this service.

Township Clean-up Days

Each spring and fall Almena Township provides a clean-up day for Township residents. Materials will be collected at the Historic Township Hall 27725 CR 375. Check the Almena Township calendar website for the dates as they are scheduled. You must show identification to prove you are an Almena Township resident.
